  1.     User Configuration
  2.  
  3.     You can use this module to manage user access and monitor user
  4.     processes. The User Configuration window displays a list of all
  5.     current user accounts.
  6.  
  7.  
  8.     You can use this window to:
  9.  
  10.     + Add a user
  11.     + Modify a user
  12.     + Copy a user
  13.     + Delete a user
  14.     + Set or modify a password for a user
  15.     + Lock a user account
  16.     + Unlock a user account
  17.     + Expire a user's password
  18.     + View a user's information
  19.     + Monitor user processes
  20.     + Push NIS maps on any active NIS servers
  21.  
  22.     This window contains the following buttons:
  23.  
  24.     Add
  25.  
  26.     Click on this button to create user accounts. The Create New User
  27.     Account window will appear. 
  28.  
  29.     Use the special token, $HOMEDIR, in the home directory entry to 
  30.     distinguish between the home directory created in the file system 
  31.     and the one placed in the password file.
  32.  
  33.     Modify
  34.  
  35.     Click on this button to modify user accounts. One or more user accounts
  36.     must be selected from the list first.
  37.  
  38.  
  39.     Copy
  40.  
  41.     Click on this button to copy user accounts from one host to another.
  42.         
  43.     Delete
  44.  
  45.     Click on this button to easily delete a user from the system. This
  46.     program will delete the user account and also (optionally) remove
  47.     the HOME directory and all of its contents (files and sub
  48.     directories) associated with the user. Highlight the username(s) you
  49.     wish to delete from the system and then click on the Delete button.
  50.     Enlighten will prompt you to confirm your action.
  51.  
  52.     Enlighten will NOT delete the users HOME directory if:
  53.  
  54.     + It is considered to be a sacred (required) directory. The sacred
  55.       directories are:
  56.  
  57.         / /usr /etc /bin
  58.  
  59.         /lib /home /dev /sbin
  60.  
  61.         /usr/bin /usr/adm /usr/lib /usr/sbin
  62.  
  63.         /usr/man /usr/lib/uucp
  64.  
  65.     + It is shared by more than one user. In this case, the HOME
  66.       directory is not deleted since this would also delete the HOME
  67.       directory of any sharing co-users.
  68.  
  69.     + It is not owned by the user whose HOME directory it is supposed to
  70.       be. In this case, Enlighten will then ask for your confirmation and
  71.       before deleting it.
  72.  
  73.     Furthermore, Enlighten will not delete the root user account, this
  74.     is considered to be too dangerous to allow.
  75.  
  76.     Password
  77.  
  78.     Click on this button to change a currently defined User Account
  79.     password. You don't need to know the password. A pop-up window will
  80.     ask you to set the new password for the highlighted user.
  81.  
  82.     Lock
  83.  
  84.     Click on this button to deny a specific user access to the system
  85.     without deleting the user's account. This procedure is part of the
  86.     Enlighten security module; be cautious about who can access it. A
  87.     pop-up window will prompt you to confirm this action.

  89.     Note: You must assign a new password to unlock a user, the existing
  90.     password will be lost!
  91.  
  92.     Unlock
  93.  
  94.     Click on this button to remove a lock from a user account. Because
  95.     locking and unlocking user accounts is considered part of system
  96.     security, Enlighten will ask for a new password when it unlocks a
  97.     User Account.
  98.  
  99.     Expire
  100.  
  101.     Click on this button to expire the password for the selected user
  102.     account(s) immediately. This option will only work on systems which
  103.     support password aging. The next time the user attempt to login to
  104.     the system, he or she will be forced to change his/her password. You
  105.     must confirm this option before it will be executed.
  106.  
  107.     View
  108.  
  109.     Click on this button to view existing User Account information. 
  110.  
  111.     Processes
  112.  
  113.     This command displays a window of all processes currently running
  114.     which belong to the highlighted users. To view the processes,
  115.     highlight the users you wish to view and then click on the Processes
  116.     button. A window will appear displaying all processes for the
  117.     highlighted users. 
  118.  
  119.     NIS
  120.  
  121.     Click on this button to push/remake the NIS maps on any active NIS
  122.     servers. This updates the NIS servers and hosts on your network with
  123.     any Host Entry changes you've made to the Configuration list. If
  124.     there are no NIS servers to update for your choice(s), Enlighten
  125.     will display a dialog box telling you so.
  126.
